"In 1809 he wrote a pamphlet, The Mediator's Kingdom... containing an argument against the lawfulness of war waged by Christians. He began a vigorous campaign to enlist the so-called evangelical churches of America in his war against war" (DAB). Shaw & Shoemaker 18061. A Short Tract, Addressed to the Children of the Kingdom in New York [drop title]. At the bottom of the text on p. 7, it is dated at New York, October 1809.
