The Complete Leaves of Grass (In Dustjacket and Slipcase)
by Walt Whitman
Tokyo: Taibundo, 1966. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. A solid, very well-preserved copy of this handsome 1966 edition of "The Complete Leaves of Grass", published out of Tokyo and including "prose essences and annotations" by William L. Moore. Clean and Near Fine in its 1/2 dark suede over crimson cloth. Bright gilt-titling along the front panel and spine. And in a crisp, Near Fine example of the pictorial, duotone dustjacket. Thick quarto, 1,096 pgs. all told. The calligraphy, which nicely complements the text, is by Kazuko Okamoto. Also includes a sharp example of the publisher's printed cardboard slpcase, which no doubt accouts for the superb condition of the book. (Inventory #: 16823)
