Based on Humble's 1984 play, based in turn on a true event in Irish history wherein the Earls of Tyrone and Tyrconnell fled Ireland with 90 of their followers to escape British rule and establish an army to invade Ireland, a venture which failed and ultimately brought Protestant rule to Northern Ireland.
