Greenwich, CT: Fawcett Publications (Gold Medal Books), 1957. Original wraps. Near Fine. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR ANN BANNON across the title page. An unusually crisp, clean copy to boot of the March 1957 stated 1st printing of this very important title in lesbian pulp fiction. As the first book published in the "Beebo Brinker Chronicles" (a groundbreaking 6-volume series Bannon published between 1957 and 1962), "Odd Girl Out" blazed an important path in the liberation of lesbian fiction and, against considerable odds (including censors AND the United States Postal System), found itself to be a commerical success, having emerged as Gold Medal's second best seller of the year. This copy has held up beautifully and shows almost no wear at all. The binding is firm and crisp, the covers (front cover art by Barrye Phillips) bright and clean. Just the slightest hint of light wear at the foot of the spine and one tiny spot to the bottom-edge keep this copy from being truly Fine. Pocketsized, "Gold Medal Giant" s653. (Inventory #: 17116)
