Near fine book with just a slight lean to spine, only very lightly soiled, pages with light scattered f. A clean and sturdy copy in the beautiful original binding. This 1908 edition published by Carrington was intended to be the first illustrated edition of The Picture of Dorian Gray, but the after the text was printed, the artist fell ill and was unable to execute the drawings. These sheets were bound into the present edition, and Carrington issued the illustrated edition in two years later in 1910, with 7 full-page wood engravings by Eugene Dété after drawings by Paul Thiriat of Paris..
