1797 · Londra [London notionally, but Venice actually]
by Barzoni, Vittorio [1767-1843]
Londra [London notionally, but Venice actually]: Printed by F. Rivington and G: Robinson. St. James'street. [notional?], 1797. 86p., largepoint presswork on mouldmade paperstock, with titlepage insertions in smallpoint (the possibly fictitious 'edizione nona' or ninth edition, and publisher & address), hardbound in 7x4.5 inch marbled boards with pressed-calf spine gilt. Calf a little scuffed, titling & rulings remain bright; corner-tips either genuine vellum or pigskin, joints and hinges are sound, textblock shows small light staining, flecking, ink-spatter, otherwise unmarked. Rear endpaper in similar state. No blanks save the ffep; we see mild gaps that could indicate removal. Find two old bookplates on pastedown belonging to members of the Ojetti family; Ugo was a journalist. A good copy. (Inventory #: 240345)
