His accomplishments include the steel cylinder escape wheel, the bimetallic thermometer, marine and deck chronometers used by the Royal Danish Navy (including the Krusenstern Chronometer), the detached double-wheel chronometer escapement, a member of the Royal Danish Academy of Science, and Knight of the Danebrog Order.
