by Givens, Willard E. and Belmont M. Farley
Washington DC: The Supreme Council, 33 AASR, SJ, 1962. 64p., 5x7.25 inches, stapled magazine, toned interior pages, wraps lightly worn at spine and edges, light water stains on some pages, mailing label removed from back cover, else good. Issue date on cover is October 1962, but masthead date inside is November. This special issue of the Scottish Rite's monthly magazine was devoted to a comprehensive critique of Communism and the Soviet Union worthy of J. Edgar Hoover. It was designed as a stand-alone booklet to be available to schools and other audiences at special bulk rates. For much of the period between the 1920s and 1970s, the Scottish Rite emphasized Americanism, Conservatism, and supporting public schooling. In more recent decades it has toned down the politics.
