Portus Novae Albionis / Sir Francis Drake's Plate of Brass [facsimile]
1966·Point Reyes CA
by [Drake, in California]
Point Reyes CA: Drake Navigators Guild, 1966. Embossed facsimile (5x7 inches) on metallic paperstock, mounted on a textured moss-green leaf (8x10) which is tipped into a long folio leaf printed and folded to make an 8.5x11 inch brochure; item supplies minimal textual information and belongs to the "this is the real mccoy" school of thought, now discredited. It remains a genuine curiosity however, as a clever forgery, and aside from a bit of edgewear to outermost folder, in very good condition.
