Horse-Drawn Funeral Vehicles: 19th Century Funerals
first editionPictorial boards
by Edited by Michael P. D'Amato
Bird-In-Hand, Pennsylvania: Carriage Museum of America, 2004. Pictorial boards. Very Good +. The 2004 1st edition of this fascinating examination and catalogue of 19th century American horse-drawn funeral vehicles. A clean, very impressive copy. Would be all-but-pristine except that the first 2 pages (the front free endpaper and the title page) are barely still attached to the binding, with only the upper 1%-2% of each page in place and keeping them from becoming completely loose. Beyond this though (the precarious state of these 2 pages)), the text and boards are immaculate and the remaining 99% of the book is firmly bound-in and perfectly secure and in place. Quarto, hundreds of wonderful engraved illustrations and photographs thruout. (Inventory #: 17602)
