first edition Original wraps
1960 · Mexico
by Federico Sanchez Fogarty
Mexico: Tacubaya, 1960. Original wraps. Very Good +/Very Good. Alberto Isaac. The 1960 1st edition of this uncommon Mexican satire of a Tercer Imperio Mexicano (an imaginary "Third Mexican Empire"). SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR FEDERICO SANCHEZ FOGARTY on the front free endpaper and presented to 2 people who appear in the book (their appearance specifically cited in the short presentation). A crisp, very presentable copy to boot. Solid and VG+ in its pictorial wrappers. And in a bright, VG example of the fragile --and undoubtedly scarce-- dustjacket, which mirrors the images adorning the wrappers. The dustjacket shows very light chipping along the panel edges and one very thin streak of soiling at the rear panel but is striking and very presentable (the wonderful, Andy Warhol-like illustrations by Alberto Isaac). Octavo, 242 pgs., limited to 1,000 copies. (Inventory #: 17617)
