Peterborough, NH: Dramatic Club, November 28, 1827. Abisha Tubbs was born on May 21, 1791 to Joseph Tubbs (1765-1845) and Rhoda Henry (1770-1856) in Marlow, New Hampshire. He married Belinda Fisk (1804-1846) on February 2 1823 and had two children together, Cemira Fisk Tubbs (1824-1890) and Justina Millrose Tubbs (1827-1920). After his first wife died in 1846, he married Matilda N. Nay (1806-1882). Abisha died on November 28, 1878. . An invite to Peterborough's Dramatic Club's Exhibition and Ball. The invite is addressed to "Mr. Abisha Tubbs & Lady", and the event was scheduled for Wednesday, November 28, 1827. The exhibition features several exercises - 'Discussion upon Novel Reading', Defense of Agricultural Societies', 'The effects of Morgan's book upon Masonry', 'Declamation, an Extract'. 'Superstition', 'Signs of the Times', 'Poem', and 'View of Greece' - and a comedy show called "The Rivals" followed by an evening of dancing. "The Rivals" is a comedy of manners performed in five acts that was written by Richard Brinsely Sheridan, an Irish playwright (1751-1816).
