Freeville, March 2008. . A constructed "curiosity cabinet" 8 x 10 x 4. painted wooden box with hinged lid & latch. Lid of the box is a used picture frame enclosing a collage under glass. Contents include images & description of this rare and endangered parrot, a map of Brazil, and a remaindered copy of Juniper's book "Spix's Macaw, The Race to Save the World's Rarest Bird." Compartment holds five glass bottles with birdseed, feathers, nuts, dried moss. As new. No. 5 of 7 signed copies. Created for Faces in the Wild to raise awareness and funds for wildlife protection.Scanned images, printed on an Epson Photo 2000 using archival inks & papers, are hand colored with paint, graphite, & inks. Carol Schwartzott has been creating books since the 1960s. Her work has been seen in numerous exhibitions of Artists'' Books, and featured in the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
