In 1822 a major schism began within the Dutch Church in New Jersey and New York, led largely by Solomon Froeligh of the Schraalenburgh church. For the next dozen years there was great turmoil within the church in Bergen County as many left to join the secession church, called the "True Reformed Dutch Church." Here Paulison, minister of the churches of Hackensack and English Neighbourhood, explains in detail why he joined the newly formed church. American Imprints 8639. (Inventory #: 15493)
