Two volumes finely bound in signed Brentanos half dark blue crushed morocco over blue buckram, the backs with five raised bands with gilt tooled decorations, rules, and lettering, marbled end papers, top edges gilt. Near Fine, slight wear at joints, rubbed top edge at spine of Vol. II. George Peele (1556-1596) was an English translator, poet, and dramatist, perhaps best noted or his supposed but not universally accepted collaboration with William Shakespeare on the play "Titus Andronicus". This edition SCARCE in collectible condition and handsome binding. Given the Brentanos binding most likely one of the 300 copies printed for America.
