___DESCRIPTION: Bound in green cloth over boards, silver lettering on the spine, black-and-white map front endpaper, black-and-white rear endpaper a depiction of a "privateer board game", several charts, graphs, maps, and illustrations in black and white throughout; octavo size (9 3/8" by 6.25"), pagination: [i-iii] iv-vi, [1-2] 3-602. Pictorial glossy dust jacket with a reproduction of an oil painting on the front panel of "Prince Rupert of the Rhine" shown with a young slave boy, on the back panel "Slave Play in Suriname 1707", remainder of back panel and spine green with white lettering, front flap a summary of the book, black flap author picture and bio; jacket is not price-clipped although is without a printed price.
___CONDITION: Fine, with clean boards, straight corners entirely without rubbing, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the interior is clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; the unclipped dust jacket is near fine with extremely minor edgewear, mostly at the corners.
