Scarce account of the development of Soviet woodcut illustration during the ten years since the October Revolution, along with an overview of the woodcut medium and its characteristics compared to other forms of graphic arts. Illustrated with works by A. Ostroumova-Lebedeva, P. A. Shilingovskii, Vladimir Favorsky, Boris Kustodiev, Dmitri Mitrokhin, and Solomon Iudovin, among others, all of them printed from the original boards. One of 1500 copies printed.
