Near fine. 8vo; viii, 975, [1]pp; half-bound in black pebbled leather over brown pebbled boards, gilt stamped title to front, 4 band spine with gilt stamped title and owner’s name; all edges marbled; Herald Bindery, Dubuque, Iowa, ticket to front pastedown; pale blue endpapers; bound without the publisher’s mailing wrapper; light scuffing to board edges; near fine. This volume of 6 issues includes Stories, Poetry, Battles and Leaders of the Civil War, Topics of the Time, Open Letters, and a section called Bric-A-Brac, some with illustrations.
The Century Magazine was the successor to Scribner’s Monthly Magazine, and was published from 1881 to 1930.
