Leather Bound
1883 · Paris
by Fabre, J.-H
Paris: Librairie Ch. Delagrave, 1883. Leather Bound. 531p., illustrated with numerous wood-engravings scattered through the text, most small cuts or quarter-page vignettes and a few fullpage plates, nothing in color, the strikes are clean and clear. Hardbound in 8.5x5 inch pebbled green cloth boards ruled in blind with spine title and devices gilt. Raised bands, marbled endsheets, a small heavy book in sound condition as to hinges and internal condition generally. The front pastedown bears an old French seller's fiche, and of course the entire text is in French. Abrasion to the spine is item's main drawback, with the dyed layer scraped off raised bands and scuffed from the head. Casing's corner-tips are a little turned with some fray. We also note mild foxing to titlepage and random areas. A good, reliable copy with nice renderings of machinery. (Inventory #: 250880)
