Illustrated. Oblong 4to., 40 pp.; pictorial boards.
An Exhibition Catalogue which reproduces 7 exquisite ink line drawings by Maurice Sendak and all of his 22 pencil studies for this project. With a brilliant essay by Prof. Robert N. ESSICK, Blake scholar and collector, comparing Sendak s interpretations to William Blake's original etchings (also reproduced in full color). This group of drawings comprises the only remaining manuscript for a published Sendak title still in private hands, which was exhibited at the Society of Illustrators (128 East 63rd St., New York City) from 23 October to 3 November 2018.
