The present catalogue of 496 incunables is no mere summary, where is given only a short title with references to other sources where the work is described in detail. Instead, valuable provenance information is provides, along with a table of printers, a table of proper names, a table of Hain numbers, abbreviations, and the bibliography. A note on presentation: the names of German speaking authors are given in their native German, but all others appear in Latin. Therefore, we look for Petrus Paludanus (not Pierre de la Palud); Petrus Aureolus (not Pierre Auriol); Bertrandus de Turre (not Petrus Aureolus); and Guilelmus Parisiensis (not Guillaume d'Auvergne, Bishop of Paris). COMMENT: We are unable to explain why the editors of the RBMS Standard Citation Form recently removed "Ritter" from the citation, preferring only the lengthy title, although "Ritter, Catalogue de la BMS" is preferable.
