Philadelphia: Robert M. Lindsay, 1889. First Edition. Limited Edition Very good in its original brown cloth covered boards with faded gilt text on the spine and bright gilt text on the front board. A small quarto of 10 1/2 by 7 7/8 inches with the cloth rubbed and worn at the head and heel of the spine, the first free end page chipped around its edges and reattached by tipping-in. Although the front hinge has been reinforced the front and rear joints and rear hinge are solid and tight. The contents are clean. There is an embossed seal from the Long Island Historical Society on the title page and the last page of text; and, on the copyright page is a stamped withdrawn stamp from the Brooklyn Historical Society. Without a dust jacket as probably issued. One of only 400 copies printed. The author has signed the verso of the third free end page gifting this copy to the Long Island Historical Society as of "Oct. 8, 1889". 179 pages including an index.
