Very good+ in gray-green cloth covered boards with gilt text and rules on the spine and gilt text and blind embossed borders on the front board. A 12mo of 7 1/8 by 4 3/4 inches with the cloth worn through in very small spots at the head and heel of the spine at at the tips of the boards. The free end sheets are extremely fragile and tanned and have four repairs with archival tape on its verso side. There is a more modern prior owner's address label on the second free end page. Without a dust jacket. 111 pages of text followed by 16 pages of ads from the publisher. This is an eyewitness account of the tragic days in Dublin on Monday, April 24 through Sunday, April 30, 1916, which became known as The Easter Rising of April 1916. The author, James Stephens (1882 1950), was an Irish poet and novelist and advocate of Irish independence. He personally witnessed the events which appear in this publication.
