Wrappers somewhat worn and faded; several small tears and chips; "5" in manuscript to upper. Uniformly browned; occasional foxing. Don Checco, an opera buffa to a libretto by Almerindo Spadetta, was first performed in Naples in 1850. It is regarded as de Giosa's "masterpiece and one of the greatest successes in the history of opera in Naples." Andrea Lanza in Grove Music Online. (Inventory #: 33950)
