Rebacked retaining original tree calf boards, retaining the original spine with gilt lettering, ruling and tooling on spine, chipped at top. Frontispiece portrait engraving plus two engraved plates with two images each: Jerusalem in 1817 and High Priest on first, Golden Candlesticks and Solomon's Temple on second plate. Contains table of the Jewish weights, Measures, etc. and particularly those mentioned in Josephus's works. Eighteen page index at rear with two tables. Table I: Comparative view of the lives of the Patriarchs. Table II: Chronological Table, from the Creation to the Birth of our Lord. Previous owner's names in pencil and ink on front free endpaper (Scattergood). Small closed tear near gutter of frontispiece engraving, not affecting image. Very light sporadic foxing in margins.
