by Clark, G. Kitson
Cambridge: [Cambridge University Press], 1953. Offprint, pp.355-374, staplebound text paste-fastened into 9.5x6.5 inch plain printed grey wraps. Mild edgewear with a vertical crease through both covers (scarcely a sign of creasing to text), slight general dust-soil and crimping, staples touched with rust, a good (good-only) copy that is briefly inscribed by the author as G.K.C. A handleable, sound copy, clean within and unmarked. Text begins, 1842 "might be called the drama of the repeal of the corn laws... the people were prolific, hungry, and angry"; author Clark invokes Dickens' fictional character Scrooge to make his points vivid.
