Newburyport: printed at the Herald Office, 1828. Broadside (approx. 13" x 7½"), text in both single and double column beneath the running head, the whole within a decorative typographical border; previous folds; very good. With readings of prayers, scriptures and hymns from various notables, including the Reverends Mr. Osgood, Mr. Loring, Dr. Thayer, Dr. Parker, and Dr. Lowell, among others, including the Rev. Dr. Flint who has composed an original hymn, printed here, presumably for the first time. Damon (1787-1843) graduated from Harvard in 1811 and was a Congregational preacher who served parishes in Lunenburg, Salisbury, Amesbury, and West Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the early 1800s.
