Amsterdam: Johannes Rotterdam, 1730. octavo in 4s. Title page [2 blanks]; [34]479, [7] pp. Dutch text. A Dutch reformer's discussion of the letters of the Apostle Peter. The author whose portrait hangs in the Rijkismuseum is a noted figure of the Dutch Protestant thought. Evenhuis discusses his importance in his history of Dutch protestant commentators. Knipscheer notes his significance in the New Dutch Biographical Dictionary, the 16 page Register (index) is a helpful guide to specific themes. OCLC shows six copies in the libraries of the Netherlands, one in German, none in the U.S. Bound in full blind stamped vellum, raised bands, tile in brown ink, front lacks one blank, one signature protruding a bit, text clean without foxing. A very good copy.
