Crude repair to centerfold with some loss in the Arctic, abrasions and stains off setting and margin repairs. 20 5/8 x 20 inches. Tribal names and affiliations are shown throughout this beautifully designed Americas map. The United States extends to the Mississippi River, showing Spanish rule beyond with Louisiana and New Mexico named. The majority of the northwest part of the continent is blank with Quivira noted. In South America, the fictitious lakes Parima appears. Pope Alexander's 1493 Line of Demarcation is shown in the Atlantic, separating the Portugese and Spanish possessions is noted along with many other dates and discoveries noted throughout. William Faden (1750-1836) was an 18th century English cartographer, engraver, mapseller, and publisher as well as 'Geographer to His Majesty & to his H.R.H. the Prince of Wales, George III & George IV.
