Oblong folio. 1st set: (26 3/4 x 15 1/2 inches) 6 leaves, all cyanotypes, staples at gutter margin, w/ brown paper spine wrappi 2nd set: (16 1/3 x 10 1/3 inches) 4 leaves, cyanotypes, stapled at gutter margin, w/ center crease. Rare set of architectural plans not recorded on OCLC. First editions of thes early 20th century blueprints published by the Chicago Technical College in t 1920s as samples for their architectural students featuring the projects of former graduates. The first project "Apartment building for Mr. Axel W. Johnson" on the corner of E. 64th & Langley Ave. features a basement level wi mechanicals, store rooms, and laundry,; first & second floor plans for three bedroom apartments, and even the built-in cabinetry. The second project "Bungalow to be erected at 7955 Blackstone Ave. for Mr. Horrall Armstrong, Jr displays floor plans and elevations for the bungalow which still exists. Herlin (1889-1954), and Repp (1887-1965) were both students and instructors f the Chicago Technical College. Herlin went on to become a salesman and exec companies in Iowa, Texas, and other states. Repp, worked for the W.W. Ahlsch Co. in Chicago, and then the Fall Brick Co. as draftsman and architect. Hock (b. 1887) graduated from the Chicago Technical College in 1913, and became a Chicago architect for the next three decades. The Chicago Technical College was first located at the Lake View Building at S. Michigan Ave., and then 2721 So. Michigan Ave. around World War I, before finally moving to the corner of 26th & Indiana after 1928. Their courses wer offered to both men and women, flexible schedules, and included short three-month builder's courses in drafting and design. First set: fold & crea marks, a couple leaves with minor closed tears, still very good; second set: Near Fine.
