Biography of Pittsburgh trial lawyer Charles Margiotti, famous for his defense of underworld figures during Prohibition, later served as Attorney General of Pennsylvania (1950-51). With much on crime and criminals in Depression-era western Pennsylvania, especially in the vicinity of Elk and Jefferson Counties where Margiotti first practiced. The first edition was privately published in 1956, the year of Margiotti's death; it is now rare, and even this reprint edition has become notably hard-to-find. Second printing of the 1999 edition (first published 1956). Octavo. Green cloth-covered boards, titled in gilt on spine and front cover; 377pp. Fine, unmarked copy; appears new. (Inventory #: 51495)
