Manuscript plat map of the Cranston, Rhode Island, development covering an area on both sides of Elmwood Avenue, running along the Pawtuxet River, the lots numbered 1-371 (with one block, lots 124 -127 and 193-196, crossed through), from First to Sixth Avenues, crossed by River, Elmwood, William, Heath, and Pearce Avenues. The town of Cranston was created in 1754 from a portion of Providence north of the Pawtuxet River, portions were whittled away over the years by other towns, and the remaining portions became the city of Cranston in 1910; this development is situated just across the river from Warwick's Belmont Park.
