This work is the fourth in a series of catalogues describing selections of rare books and other material in the Oak Spring Garden Library, a collection assembled by Mrs. Rachel Lambert Mellon. "Herbaria" describes 63 books and manuscripts about herbs spanning the 14th to 19th centuries by Brunfels, Culpeper, Monardes, and Linnaeus, among others, and includes beautiful illustrations taken from the works themselves.
