"Very happy to have made the acquaintance of Mr. Kauffmann, who not only received me as a friend but who also accompanied me as an artist in the piece [quoted] above. Hoping to have the real pleasure of seeing him again soon."
Minor uniform browning. Wolff, a Dutch violinist, studied in Rotterdam and Paris and went on to have an extensive European touring career, spending considerable time in Britain. Several composers dedicated works to him, including Faur? and Saint-Sa?ns. He occasionally performed with Elgar and Grieg. (Inventory #: 35471)
