Armorial engraved bookplate of George Baillee, dated 1724, with his name handwritten on the title page, and a few of his notations on the front endpapers. Wing 3510. The author "asserted unequivocally that fossil remains that had been found in rocks were definitely the remains of living animals and plants, a view not universally held at that time.
