first edition Pamphlet
1932 · San Francisco
by Sterling, George; with Joaquin Miller and Walt Whitman associations
San Francisco: Paul Elder and Company, Fine and Rare Book Department, 1932. Pamphlet. 32p., softbound pamphlet in 9x4 inch upright wraps, bookseller's catalog in fair to good-only condition: covers dust-soiled, creased, stained by damp and acidic paperstock both - oh yes and staples are rusted. A badly toned scrap we left in place, it explains its stain. As is, books to drool over; a true first fine of Leaves of Grass ($1,850), signatures and signed photos of Whitman and Miller, and on and on. Seller Paul Elder was well-located (and -reputed, himself a printer) to secure fine libraries and grateful customers. (Inventory #: 260157)
