Spine detached from backing, but still firmly attached to boards. Binding with some mild soiling and small tears to vellum along upper and lower hinges. Bookplate to front pastedown. Foxing along the edges of some plates. Contains fort-nine plates, largely botanical. Text primarily in Latin, with some Hebrew, Greek, and German type. Part one only, of a three-part series. Shelved in Case 3. Johann Heinrich Ursin (1608-1667) was a learned German author, scholar, Lutheran theologian, humanist and dean of Regensburg. His Arboretum Biblicum, which first appeared in 1663, was the first attempt of note to create a concordance of botanical references in the Bible, 1326124. Shelved Dupont Bookstore.
