Begining in 1881, Edward Gurney Hill and his father, Joseph, began Hill and Company with two greenhouses near their home. In 1893 the business outgrew its original location and moved to Richmond, Indiana and became E.G. Hill Co. The business grew under his Hill's son and son-in-law's watch and grew to become a large distribution company - Hill Floral Products.
