"This broadside explains a new patented process for curing leaf tobacco developed by John W. Barnett of Big Spring, Virginia. The process involves using water that was poured near the fires during curing. This allowed for curing at a slower rate, which permitted green portions from 'setting' thus producing a superior yellow product."
