Very Good, 1/4" loss of cloth at head of spine and 3/8" chip to cloth near head, stamped "Edwardsville High School" three times front end pages, numbers in ink top edge of title page, end papers foxed with interior pages clean and bright. Large folding map is complete but torn unevenly from book leaving a triangular section attached. Map has 2 small holes at center crease and tears at some creases. A brief original report of Raynold's 1859 exploration of the Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers was published in 1860, with this main report delayed by the Civil War. The map features post-Civil War developments, including Fort Casper and Camp Marshall, Jackson's Hole, and other new forts and roads. Howes R88. . First Edition. Cloth.
