The first Armenian translation of Carriere's La legende d'Abgar dans l'Histoire d'Armenie de Moise de Khoren, 1896, which itself is an analysis of Movses Khorenatsi's work from the 5th century A.D. Carriere believed Movses to be a later figure, and dated his work to the 9th century.
