Ida WAUGH, illustrator. 4to; [16]pp; color pictorial boards featuring two young girls at play on the front and two children at a table setting on the rear board, gold-colored cloth shelf-back; neat gift inscription on ffep dated "Christmas 1890;" illustrated title page; thick cream-colored paper stock; 9 full-page chromolithographed illustrations, small decorations on the 6 pages of poetry; scuffing to boards, small abrasion to shelf-back, ffep has two vertical creases and rear ep has small closed tear with creases, some off-setting of ink, light foxing to rear pastedown and a few pages; very good. Scarce in the marketplace. Written by Amy Ella Blanchard (1854-1926) and illustrated by her life partner, Ida Waugh (1846-1919), this delightful book contains 6 poems and 9 full-page illustrations. Waugh is known for her beautiful pictures of an idyllic childhood.
