This folding map of Paris, France from 1881 shows the 1860 repartitioning of the arrondissement system into 20 districts. This was done under Napoleon and the map also shows the broad networks of streets and avenues. A highly detailed engraving, it shows parks, streets, squares, and cemeteries, as well as hotels, schools, and other important buildings. Elegantly colored. Auguste Logerot is a French map publisher from the 19th century, who worked with many other prominent mapmakers of the time. He published many atlases but was best known for his jigsaw puzzle educational maps. (Inventory #: 308477)
