Jacket slightly soile and missing a small chip along a jacket fold.. Laid in: (1) press release from Parke-Davis Company announcing that they had arranged to give copies of Poindexter's book to approximately 300 African American physicians in the Detroit area; and (2) a photocopied letter from J. W. Collins, M.D, as President of the Detroit Medical Society which was probably sent to those 300 physician inviting them members to attend a reception for Poindexter and get their copies signed. Poindexter was a highly regarded African American physician scientist. This copy is not signed so it probably belonged to an African American physician from the Detroit area who got a copy but did not attend the reception (or else forgot to bring his copy).
