Boston, MA, [1897]. Printed mail-order fortune, printed in blue ink for an unnamed recipient who is liable to throat diseases and whose ideal sweetheart is a Libra. Includes prices of readings (in case the recipient should want another) and a brief explanation of astrology for the curious beginner on the back. Includes a full-page allegorical illustration with images depicting such possible outcomes as death, ignorance, financial trouble, and even afflictions such as gout or consumption. A gem (1" by 0.75") photograph of a gentleman has been pasted to the head of the first leaf-- perhaps of the anonymous astrologer himself, or the recipient.
