Original printed program and bill of fare for the Yale Class of 1877 Supper held in 1875 at the Sea View House in West Haven, Connecticut. Includes the evening's Bill of Fare as well as a program with a list of toasts and speakers. A number of witty lines are quoted, such as this one on the cover: "Dire was the clang of plates, of knife and fork, That merciless fell, like tomahawks to work!" (recto).
Top-folding bifolium (8.5" by 5") printed in blue and gold on blue-tinted paper. Savin Rock was an amusement park established in the 1870s in West Haven, Connecticut, that soon became a popular beach-side resort destination for New Englanders. It declined in popularity in the mid-twentieth century, and was ultimately demolished and redeveloped in the 1960s. (Inventory #: 21000348)
