One of 1000 copies numbered and signed by the author with an added inscription by her on the flyleaf. Matthews (b.1866) was a prolific writer of short stories. The stories concern the Sonoratown which was the first barrio in Los Angeles. Matthew was a reformer and worked actively with southern California immigrant communities.
