By "Theodatus Garlick, giving the author's first experiments contained in a paper read before the Cleveland Academy of Natural Science. Also directions for the most successful modes of angling for such kinds of fish as are herein described." (from the title page). Garlick's work spanned careers as varied as stone mason, blacksmith, surgeon and medical inventor. ~ Some spotting throughout; ink annotation to foot of Contents page.
