We believe this to be the second edition, although not certain of this. We have not seen an 1844 copy. . This atlas contains 636 figures, all printed on the recto of the page with descriptions below. Versos are blank. Collated complete. Plates are generally very clean, occasional peripheral foxing, never heavy. 200pp plus 2 pages of adverts at end. Old water-stain rear endpapers and next two pages at periphery. See photos. A very complete early atlas of the human body; in 5 parts: Bones and ligaments, dermoid and muscular systems, organs of digestion and generation, organs of respiration and circulation, and the nervous system and senses.
