Two young boys in Minnesota return from hunting to find a moose in the stables. Phil Duffield Stong was an American author, perhaps best known for his novel, State Fair, later adapted into movies and a Broadway musical production. Kurt Wiese (1887-1974) was a German-born illustrator and artist, who immigrated to the U.S. in 1927. He was awarded both the Caldecott Medal and the John Newberry Medal during his career.
